When you purchase one of Spotlight’s premium plans, you are provided with a license key. This license unlocks premium features, updates, and access to premium support.

However, in certain rare cases, the premium license may not be recognized due to various factors.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can attempt:
Plugin Conflict Test
⚠️ Please note : Before proceeding, we strongly recommend creating a staging copy of your site. By conducting the test on a staging site, we can ensure that your live site remains unaffected and continues to run smoothly during this process.
To perform this plugin conflict test, kindly deactivate all other plugins on your website, leaving only Spotlight (Free and Premium) active. After doing so, please assess whether the premium features become accessible.
If the premium features become accessible after deactivating all other plugins, it suggests that one or more of your plugins is causing a conflict with Spotlight. This could potentially be due to an incompatibility with the Freemius SDK used by Spotlight.
To determine which plugin(s) is causing the conflict, please follow these steps:
- Activate each plugin one by one.
- Check to see if the issue occurs after each plugin is activated.
If you find the plugin that is causing the conflict, please let us know and we'll investigate it further.
Verify the Plugin Directory Name
Check if the folder name for the free version of Spotlight has been changed. The correct folder name is spotlight-social-photo-feeds and the plugin should be found in:
wp-content/plugins/spotlight-social-photo-feeds
To check it, you'll need to access your website files. If you're comfortable with it, follow these steps:
- Log in to your WordPress hosting account.
- Go to the File Manager.
- Navigate to the public_html directory.
- Open the wp-content folder.
- Open the plugins folder.
- Look for the spotlight-social-photo-feeds folder.
If the folder's name is something other than 'spotlight-social-photo-feeds', that's likely the issue and you should rename it back.
