To set up Instagram Shopping, your Instagram account needs to meet the following requirements:

  • You need either a Business or Creator account.
  • You need to have a product catalog on Facebook Commerce Manager.

  • The Instagram account needs to represent the store it’s linked to, so it can’t be for another brand.
  • You need to be located in a country supported by Instagram Shopping.

As of 2023, some of the features of Instagram Shopping are not available for users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, and Switzerland due to regulatory issues. This tutorial is for shoppable feeds that lead to a product page on your site (or elsewhere, for affiliate marketing purposes). This enables you to use your Instagram content for marketing and as another way to lead visitors to the products they want.

To get access to shoppable feeds in Spotlight, you’ll need a PRO license or higher. This feature is not available in the free version of the plugin, so keep that in mind.

Step-by-step guide

To get started, install Spotlight and activate your premium license. Go to Instagram Feeds > Feeds and click on Create new feed:

  • Open links in. You can open links on a new tab or an existing one. If you’re adding internal links, it can be smart to make links load in the same tab so users don’t forget about them.
