How did Spotlight get started?
Spotlight has been created, designed and developed by the same team behind the popular RSS importer plugin for WordPress, WP RSS Aggregator. Over the years, we’ve been asked to support social media feeds as sources, but it never worked that well with RSS. That’s when we decided to build a dedicated dead-simple social media plugin.
We’ve learnt a lot about the importing and displaying of feeds over the past 8 years of developing and supporting the biggest RSS aggregator plugin for WordPress. We’re relying on that experience, as well as the pain points we met along the way, to build the best possible solution we can think of.
Beyond that, we rely on you to continue making constant improvements to Spotlight. We’re here to stay. Just like we’ve done with WP RSS Aggregator for the past 8 years and still do today, we turn to user feedback to determine the best future for our plugins.
